Steven Yuen’s character was killed off in season 7 of TWD; where is he now?

The Walking Dead’s Glenn Rhee was a pizza delivery guy who turned into one of the best people an apocalypse could ask for. Steven Yeun gave life to Glenn’s character from season one until season seven, when he was killed by Negan (Jeffrey Dean Morgan). It was a horrific death and to this day, this writer has been unable to watch that scene for a second time, not because of the gore but because of emotions surrounding the loss of one of my favorite characters in this series.

Glenn was a character who was very resourceful, always kind and an overall good guy. His death was a great loss to the group. He always tried to do the right thing and cared very deeply for his wife Maggie and the other people in his family.

After he departed from the series, Yeun has been very busy personally and professionally.

Yeun and his wife, Joana Pak, welcomed a baby boy into their family in 2017 and in 2019, a daughter was born.

In 2016, he was cast in the horror film Mayhem alongside Samra Weaving. He plays Derek Cho, a lawyer who is having a terrible day. He tells the viewers about the ID-7 “Red Eye” virus that is spreading worldwide and causes his law firm’s building to be quarantined because the virus has been detected in the ventilation system. He meets up with Melanie (Weaving) and they work together to fight off the chaos that has broken out in the building. It is a great horror movie with lots of gore and mayhem and some comedy thrown in.

Yeun has also done a lot of voice acting in multiple TV Series, including  Voltron: Legendary Defender, Stretch Armstrong and the Flex Fighters, Final Space, 3Below: Tales of Arcadia, Tuca & Bertie, and most recently, Wizards: Tales of Arcadia.

His role in Burning earned him high praise and a National Society of Film Critics Award for Best Supporting Actor. This film is a South Korean psychological thriller drama that follows the story of Jong-su (Yoo Ah-in) when he reconnects with a childhood friend, Jae-mi (Jeon Jong-Seo) and is concerned about her new relationship with Ben (Yeun). It is based on the short story “Barn Burning” by Haruki Murakami. This one will keep you thinking throughout and upon a second watch, things will become even more clear.

Another great looking film starring Yeun that is set to release on February 12, 2021, is entitled Minari.  This film shows an honest look at working towards the American Dream through the eyes of an immigrant family. You can view the trailer below.

So, as you can see, Yeun has kept himself very busy since leaving The Walking Dead he has been extremely busy. Keep watching for two new projects that Yeun will be involved in, Trollhunters: Rise of the Titans and Alpha Gang.
