IronE Singleton played fan-favorite T-Dog on The Walking Dead; what has he been up to? TWD has had many characters you wished had better and longer stories. For me, T-Dog is a character that I would have loved to see much more from.

IronE Singleton played this character into season three when he sacrificed himself so Carol (Melissa McBride) could escape to safety. He yelled to her, “I’m dead, just go!” That act alone gave the character so much depth and compassion that it would have been interesting to see this character in season ten. One of our writers highlighted T-Dog as one of the top underrated performances of the series.

T-Dog endured much verbal abuse from Merle (Michael Rooker) in the form of racial slurs. But, when the group decided to return to Atlanta to save Merle from being handcuffed on the rooftop, T-Dog, who could have held a grudge because of his treatment by Merle, volunteered to go with the group to save him.

As with many of the main characters we have lost throughout the series, you can imagine a great storyline for this character. But, without his sacrifice, Carol could have died and we would be having the same discussion about her character. It always sad to lose our favorites, but it is an apocalypse.

What has IronE Singleton been up since he departed from The Walking Dead?

For many of us, we remember Singleton as the gang banger, Alton, in The Blindside. You remember the one who called Leigh Anne Tuohy, played by Sandra Bullock, “Snowflake” with a cute little wink to accompany the endearment. He didn’t have a lot of screen time, but many enjoyed this character.

He has been involved in other projects including the TV series’ An Amish Murder and Franklin and Bash. He is also scheduled to be in the TV series The Underground Railroad that has yet to be released.

EDITOR NOTE: After this article was published Singleton shared a video trailer for The Underground Railroad on our Twitter page. This video is beautifully done and lets us know this will be an Amazon Original series.

Another amazing project he has been busy with is his IronE School of the Arts, a performance arts school located in Suwanee, Georiga. There he offers acting classes and workshops as well as audio, video and photo services.

Be sure to check out his book Blindsided by the Walking Dead. This book takes a look at Singleton’s life and his fight for survival. He endured many hardships as a young man, leading him to turn to football and Faith in God to overcome drugs and violence of the ‘hood.

He has even turned his story into a one-man play. You can view this on his website.

Best wishes to IronE Singleton in his current and future ventures. He will forever be one of the beloved members of TWD Family.
