Walking Dead Alum Chandler Riggs scares fans with hospital photo
By Renee Hansen
Fans of Chandler Riggs were shocked at his post of photo of himself in a hospital bed. This wouldn’t be the first time the actor scared his fans with a hospital visit.
In 2019 Riggs was thrown from a horse and spent time in the hospital for a concussion. This time he had to have minor surgery.
His mother posted the same photo on her IG, clarifying that fans need not worry; he had to have minor surgery and was in recovery doing well. She also stated that they appreciated all the kind words and well wishes.
Anytime anyone posts a hospital photo, it is concerning, but fans become very concerned when you are a celebrity. The comments on his Twitter post range from gifs and photos of his character Carl to well wishes to questions about what is going on.
What else has Chandler Riggs been up to since leaving The Walking Dead?
Riggs played Carl Grimes on The Walking Dead from season one until his death in season eight. He started as a bratty little kid who would never stay put but grew into an important group member. His death was met with mixed reviews. Die-hard Carl fans thought it was a waste of a good character and others just weren’t fans of this character and felt it didn’t take anything away from the series.
Since his departure, Riggs has starred in the series A Million Little Things as PJ Nelson. He had a recurring role in season two but didn’t return for season three. Executive producer DJ Nash posted an answer to a question regarding PJ’s return on his Twitter account. He stated that he did have a storyline ready for PJ, but due to COVID filming restrictions, PJ probably wouldn’t be back for the third season. But this doesn’t mean he won’t come back. Perhaps if the series is renewed for the fourth season, we could see PJ return.
Riggs has also starred in the sci-fi drama Only, which also starred fellow TWD cast members Jayson Warner Smith and Joshua Mikel.
Best wishes for a speedy recovery to Chandler Riggs. And hopefully, this is his last visit to a hospital for the foreseeable future.
The Walking Dead returns to AMC on February 28, when the first of six bonus episodes will air.
