The new promo that has been released by AMC for The Walking Dead is amazing. The art department has really outdone themselves. The new red swirls that surround everything give the photos and the promos an eerie, moody quality.

The Walking Dead always has amazing artwork. I think back to the original title sequence and how each picture tied to the actor whose name was across the screen. It was a cool concept that gave great meaning to something as simple as a title sequence.

Remember how the logo gradually disintegrated each season, and in season nine, it showed greenery symbolizing growth? This was intentional. The world had been decaying with living dead for so long, and then things took a turn, and the communities were thriving.

Now we see a lot of red and darkness, and the looks on the character’s faces show pain and despair.

What do we find out in the latest promo of The Walking Dead?

It starts with a red walker eye centered on Carol. We pan into a still of Carol with her quote, “I know this world, the dead, it’s gonna catch up to us, eventually.”

The dead are going to catch up to them? The world? Carol has been talking about going off for a long while. Does she think she can outrun this world?

Next up, we see Daryl, red swirls surrounding him with his quote, “I just got stuff to do.” This is something similar to what we have heard him say in the past. He uses this when he feels the need to go off on his own to do what Daryl does best. Track, whether it’s humans or animals, he is gifted in this area. This is most likely part of a backstory of when he went off to find Rick.

Aaron, who we know, has suffered great losses and has gone from a simple recruiter to a powerful fighter and leader. His quote is, “Helping people was right. We haven’t done that for a long time.”  Does he feel they are ready to help others so soon after finding people like the Whisperers in this world?

Gabriel is another person who has undergone major changes from the sniveling man we were introduced to many seasons ago. His quote is, “The world isn’t built for the way we used to be.” Is he referencing the way things were before the outbreak? Or before the Whisperers?

Another person who has suffered great loss personally and as a leader has been Ezekiel. His quote is, “There’s the stories you tell yourself and there’s the truth.”  What lies are being told to him? Or perhaps he is telling the lies?

Next, we see Princess, with blood splatter on her face saying, “I’m a GD superhero on my own.” Does something happen for her to go off on her own again already? Or is this from her past?

A mysterious man says, “You should have answered our questions.” Could this be Mercer? The officer in the Commonwealth? There has been a lot of chatter about this character who is in the comics.

Maggie says, “We need to get our heads on straight, find our people, find my son.”  Who else is missing with little Hershel and why? Is this something happening in the present or a past storyline? The photo of Maggie looks like it is from season nine, so perhaps something in the past?

Negan, who has been trying to redeem himself, says, “Something very terrible is going to happen to you.” His face and Maggies appear at the same time. Is he talking to Maggie? There is also a door opening in the center of the frame and the silhouette looks like Negan with someone outside the door. Could he be talking to whoever is opening that door?

A bright light shines. Then we see a burned-out house or cabin.

Then Carol again. “Our luck’s run out.”

Daryl limping down a railroad track, and he says, “We’ll make it work. We always do.”

Then the logo with more red swirls.

It is hard to say where these quotes come up in the episodes and if they are related to one another even though they look like it in the video. Many of these quotes could come from backstories because some of the synopsis for the episodes say we will get some past stories.

Next. Who is Negan’s wife Lucille on The Walking Dead?. dark

We don’t have long to wait now. February 28, the first of the six episodes in season 10 of The Walking Dead, premieres on AMC.
