The Walking Dead has certainly not been kind to King Ezekiel, and after the infamous pike scene where he lost his beloved son Henry, fans have seen his character take a dreary turn. He has gone from a vibrant and positive leader to a character unsure of their own future. Even on this current mission, he has struggled with his mental and physical health. However, the latest teaser shows him back in fight mode!

Each of the teasers for the bonus 6 episodes of season 10 are extremely fast-paced. If viewers blink, they can miss important hints to the future episodes. The latest teaser titled “Here’s Negan” is certainly more focused on episode 1022 detailing Negan’s past, but within all of the tiny clips and quotes from Negan, there is a small gem. For exactly half a second, viewers can clearly see King Ezekiel knocking a Commonwealth guard to the ground.

This is a significant change from his troubles on the road when he was struggling to defeat walkers. Another big clue about his change comes from the table read uploaded to The Walking Dead Youtube channel. In this video, Khary Payton and Paola Lázaro read lines directly from the script. It appears that King Ezekiel will make his way out of his train car and build some sort of plan with Princess regarding the Commonwealth soldiers.

In a couple of the teasers, one moment is repeatedly shown, and that is King Ezekiel, Yumiko, and Eugene with bags over their heads. This makes it seem like whatever plan the group comes up with doesn’t work out; this could either get them in trouble or prove how resourceful they can be. At this point, with everything coming to a close, anything could happen in the story.

As teasers are released for 10c of The Walking Dead, fans gain insight into what King Ezekiel has been up to after the Commonwealth soldiers showed up.

So far, it appears King Ezekiel will only appear in one episode out of the bonus 6, episode 1020, titled “Splinter.” This episode also seems to be more focused on Princess. However, King Ezekiel fans shouldn’t fret, as it was Princess that gave him his smile back and a sense of happiness when she was introduced. With all signs pointing to a team-up, King Ezekiel is sure to get back to his former leadership role.
