The Walking Dead Universe was sorely disappointed in 2020 when much of what was scheduled wasn’t able to happen. Filming shutdowns because of the pandemic postponed most of what was scheduled for The Walking Dead, Fear TWD and TWD World Beyond.

Just after we received news that TWD  started filming for its eleventh season, TWD World Beyond announced that production for its final season has also begun with a photo on its IG page.

World Beyond is the second spinoff from the original series. This series is a coming of age story set in an apocalypse. The series follows a young group of kids as they embark on a cross country trip from Nebraska to New York.

The first season of the series was met by mixed reviews from critics and fans of TWDU. It is a unique story as these youngsters have been raised in an apocalypse, and what they remember from before the outbreak is limited because of their age.

What will happen next in the final season of the limits series TWD World Beyond?

During the first season, we get a feel for the life this group leads. They have lived behind walls for so long that they aren’t experienced in the dangers outside their borders. When they embark on their journey, they aren’t prepared for lies before them.

The group consists of sisters Hope (Alexa Mansour) and Iris (Aliyah Royale), along with their two friends Silas (Hal Cumpston) and Elton (Nicolas Cantu). They were joined by Felix (Nico Tortorella) and Huck (Annet Mahendru). At the end of season one, the group had been separated by the CRM (Civic Republic Military). Will season two reunite our group?

Hope, Huck and Elizabeth (Julia Ormond) left in one of the black helicopters that would take them to who knows where. Next season, we would like to see more about what goes on with this mysterious CRM group. We did get a taste of what they are about in season one when we saw them experimenting on walkers.

Season two hasn’t set a release date, but we know it will consist of ten episodes, which doesn’t seem that long of a time to wrap up this story. Perhaps this series will lead us into The Walking Dead movies as it is known that the CRM picked up Rick Grimes in the original series.
