Today is Fat Tuesday, which is a celebration of indulgence that falls the day before Lent begins. In 2014, The Walking Dead’s Norman Reedus and Ian Somerhalder (The Vampire Diaries) served as celebrity co-Grand Marshals for the annual Mardi Gras parade in New Orleans.

The two celebrities looked to have a lot of fun throwing beads and signing items for their respective fans. They were stationed on different floats and fans were ecstatic to see them go by on the parade route.

The parade they participated in is called Krewe Of Endymion Parade. Endymion is a Greek mythological figure who was once a mortal that Zeus granted eternal youth.  This parade boasts being the largest carnival parade with 3200 riders and 81 floats. Sadly, this year the parade will not be able to take place due to the pandemic.

The Walking Dead – Norman Reedus – Mardi Gras

It would have been amazing to have attended this event and look up to see Daryl Dixon throwing beads.
