The Walking Dead new teaser shows our gang back at work
By Renee Hansen
The Walking Dead was able to pull off filming six bonus episodes in a pandemic. This is an amazing accomplishment, especially from a series that usually has hundreds of extras. The new teaser video shows us some great BTS shots and insider information.
This new teaser gives us a glimpse into what things are like BTS while filming during a pandemic. We see many masks and face shields and a group of people making the most of a situation that they never asked to be in.
We learn that Cooper Andrews is great a pushing buttons. Paola Lazaro tried to brush her teeth through her face shield. Most fans know Khary Payton is a hugger, and in the video, he says that it’s so weird to see people after such a long time and not hug them. Lauren Cohan received calls on how she would handle the pandemic since she stars in an apocalyptic series. She says she had no idea what advice to give.
Seth Gilliam shared his excitement about getting to work closely with Ross Marquand in their stand-alone episode. Ross Marquand shares his excitement about his onesies that acts as a blanket and a garment. Cailey Fleming introduces us to her new puppy, Baxter, who, like Ross, loves his plaid jammies. Norman Reedus shares how strange it was to be filming during a pandemic and getting used to the changes.
What can fans expect from the six bonus episodes of The Walking Dead?
Throughout this 2.5 minutes of wonderful and exciting footage, we also see clips of the bonus episodes’ filming. Things look different because of the face shields, but all the familiar faces are a delight to see back in action.
Much of the footage seems to be from “Home Sweet Home,” which is the first episode that is focused on Maggie and her time away. This episode looks like it will be action-packed and full of good information.
We see a quick clip of Aaron and Gabriel’s episode “One More,” which I am very excited to see. These two characters have grown into powerhouses in the series, and it’s about time these guys get some time in the spotlight.
“Here’s Negan,” will feature the man himself, Negan. There are some great action shots of Jeffrey Dean Morgan filming this episode. This is the episode that Negan fans can’t wait to see. There will be some back story of how he became the villain who leads the saviors who eventually would kill Alpha to save the communities.
It might be a short video that is only a little over 2 minutes long, but we are shown a lot, and it has us even more excited for these bonus episodes. The Walking Dead’s first bonus episode premieres on AMC on February 28.
