The Walking Dead Universe has scored some Saturn Award nominations

Within The Walking Dead universe, there are three series and many talented people within the cast and crew of all three. Deadline has released the list of Saturn Award nominees, and it is great to see some TWDU recognition there!

For Best Horror TV Series, Fear The Walking Dead and The Walking Dead were nominated. Another cool TWDU tie-in is Greg Nicotero’s Creepshow has also been nominated in this category.  They are up against Evil, Lovecraft Country, Servant and What We Do in the Shadows.

Norman Reedus has been nominated for Best Supporting Actor on a TV series. His competition in the category consists of Jonathan Banks Better Call Saul (AMC), Tony Dalton Better Call Saul (AMC), Michael Emerson Evil (CBS), Doug Jones Star Trek: Discovery (CBS All Access), Richard Rankin Outlander (Starz) and Luke Wilson Stargirl (The CW).

Two ladies Melissa McBride (TWD) and Colby Minifie (FearTWD), are nominated for Best Supporting Actress on a TV series. They have some stiff competition with the likes of Natasia Demetriou, What We Do in the Shadows (FX), Cynthia Erivo The Outsider (HBO), Danielle Panabaker The Flash (The CW), Sophie Skelton Outlander (Starz) and Tessa Thompson
Westworld (HBO).

It is amazing to have such a large group of nominees for the Satura Awards

It is exciting to have Cassady McClincy nominated in the Best Performance by a Younger Actor on a Television Series. And a fun side note, Madison Lintz, who played Sophia on The Walking Dead, is also nominated for this award for her work in Bosch. They are up against Freya Allan, The Witcher (Netflix), Brec Bassinger Stargirl (The CW), Isa Briones Star Trek: Picard (CBS All Access), Maxwell Jenkins Lost in Space (Netflix) and Erin Moriarty The Boys (Amazon)

Although I wouldn’t categorize Jeffrey Dean Morgan as a ‘guest’ on TWD, he deserves the nomination and is up for Best Guest Starring Performance on Television. This is another category with some heavy competition. Others nominated for this category, Jon Cryer Supergirl (The CW), Giancarlo Esposito The Mandalorian (Disney Plus), Mark Hamill What We Do in the Shadows (FX), Kate Mulgrew Mr. Mercedes (Audience), Billy Porter The Twilight Zone (CBS All Access) and Jeri Ryan Star Trek: Picard (CBS All Access).

Best of luck to our TWDU nominees
