1) Things WILL Get Bad. Don’t Delude Yourself Into Thinking Otherwise.

I feel like I would be remiss if I didn’t warn you that a zombie apocalypse will not be pleasant.

Think about it: The dead won’t stay dead, but instead, rise back up to eat the living. When a zombie outbreak hits, chaos will ensue, order will break down, and mass hunger, violence, destruction, and death will follow in its wake. There is not a single thing pleasant about any of that.

The reason I say this is because I feel like there’s always a contingent of people out there who have this fantasy of how their time would go in a zombie apocalypse. I think they don’t take into account how messed up it would be to see the normalcy they’re used to implode in front of their eyes, or the sudden realization that they may have to fight someone to the death for food at a store because there’s not going to be any more shipments, or that people they may know and even trust might do things they never fathomed, because they think they could get away with it, or that they may wind up seeing someone they love get eaten alive by zombies. I think people only picture the more badass, heroic aspects of a zombie world and do not realize all the uncertainty and horror that come with it.

I hope that people realize just how bad things will get, so they have no illusions. As bad as a zombie apocalypse will be, it would be even worse for people if they underestimated it and assumed it would be easy or fun.

If you have some idea of what’s coming, that’s the first step in preparing to deal with it.
