Happy Birthday to The Walking Dead’s Cooper Andrews
By Renee Hansen
We want to wish The Walking Dead’s Cooper Andrews a very happy birthday! Andrews plays the lovable Jerry, who is a fan favorite on the series.
The last we saw of Jerry, he was covered in walker guts along with many others as they took out the Whisperers in “A Certain Doom.” On March 28, we will see him in one of the six bonus episodes, “Diverged,” centered on Daryl and Carol.
Jerry is a character who was introduced to use way back in season seven when were also introduced to King Ezekiel (Khary Payton) and the Kingdom. He was the sidekick to the king and has always provided some great comic relief. The always loyal lover of cobbler is always ready with a one-liner to give us a laugh. But, when the time comes for fighting, Jerry is a man you want on your side!
What will season eleven of The Walking Dead hold for Jerry?
Jerry has always been the right-hand man to King Ezekiel even after they left the Kingdom. They have always been an amazing duo, and it is great to see this friendship continue. In “Look at the Flowers,” Jerry and Ezekiel share a moment when Jerry tries to talk him out of going with Eugene to meet with Stephanie. Ezekiel charges Jerry with carrying the legacy of the Kingdom. It is an emotional moment when Jerry starts to call him ‘boss,’ stops and calls him Ezekiel.
We know we will see Jerry in one of the bonus episodes, “Diverged,” but what will happen with this character in season eleven? Jerry and Nabila have three children, so his main objective is to keep his family safe. And since season eleven is the final for the series, let’s hope we get some resolution for Jerry and his family.
In May, Andrews will be a featured guest at The Camp event in Peachtree City, Georiga.
Happiest of days to Cooper Andrews from all of us at Undead Walking.
AMC will air the next episode of The Walking Dead titled “One More” on March 14. This episode will be available to stream on AMC+ on March 11.
