Fans of The Walking Dead comics have been waiting for the introduction of Princess. They knew her introduction would be amazing, and from the reports, the fans weren’t disappointed. She came on the scene like she walked straight out of the comic book page.

Eugene, Ezekiel and Yumiko didn’t expect to meet this new person and were a bit overwhelmed by her personality. At first, they were leary of her intentions but decided to trust her. After she scared off their horses, she helped them find new modes of transportation, bicycles.

The group decided to include her in their trip to meet Eugene’s new found contact, Stephanie. When they arrived at the rendevous point, things didn’t go as expected. When we last saw the foursome, they were being held at gunpoint by many soldiers dressed in white armor. This is our introduction to the Commonwealth.

The teaser below gives us a glimpse of what we can expect from “Splinter.”

What can we expect from what looks to be a Princess-centric episode, “Splinter”?

The synopsis for “Splinter” reads:

"Eugene, Ezekiel, Yumiko, and Princess are captured and separated. Princess struggles with memories of her traumatic past and tries to escape one way or another with the help of Ezekiel."

This leads us to believe this episode will focus on Princess and perhaps give us a more in-depth look into this character. So far, we don’t know a lot about her. In the teaser, Paolo Lázaro, who plays Princess, says there will be steep twists and turns and a roller coast of emotions in this episode.

Khary Payton, who plays Ezekiel, says we will get a deeper sense of who “they” are. Leading us to assume the “they” he references is the Commonwealth. He goes on to say the story is serious and incredibly nuanced.

The teaser shows Princess’s capture but also what looks to be her escape. She even has a gun at one point leading us to assume she somehow gets the upper hand.

In the table read for this episode, we do know she escapes and talks to Eugene. He tells her to watch her actions as not to anger their captors so they can be worthy of allegiance with them. She ultimately goes back into her cell and is greeted by Ezekiel, who comes to her rescue.

Another new thing we see in this teaser is the introduction of Jessejames Locorriere, who plays the Commonwealth Interrogator. Could this be Lance Hornsby from the comics? In the comics, Hornsby is wearing a suit but asks similar questions. I guess we will wait and see.
