The Walking Dead alum Steven Yeun starring in new series

Steven Yeun is all over the media right now. Recently he made history when he was nominated for an Oscar as the first Asian-American in the lead actor category. His movie Minari has received outstanding reviews and has been nominated in many categories for many awards.

Deadline reports that A24, who produced the film Minari that Yeun starred in, has now cast him in a dramedy where he will star alongside Ali Wong. Yeun and Wong will also serve as executive producers and Lee Sung Jin will be the showrunner.

The yet-to-be titles series will run 10 thirty-minute episodes. The series was pitched last week and Netflix, Amazon, FX and Apple are among the streamers looking at this series.

A24 dramedy starring Steven Yeun and Ali Wong is sure to please

This will be Yeun’s first series since he was killed off on The Walking Dead series. Yeun played Glenn Rhee, who was killed by Negan (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) in season 7. Since then, he has gone on to do many amazing projects, including Mayhem, Sorry to Bother You and Burning. Yeun is also the lead in the animated superhero series Invincible that will be released on March 26.

Wong is known for her amazing stand-up career and her roles in Black Box, Birds of Prey and American Housewife. She also starred in Netflix’s Always Be My Maybe and two Netflix specials Baby Cobra and Hard Knock Wife. 

Lee Sun Jin who is a writer, creator and producer is involved in many projects you have heard of such as Dave, Tuca and Bertie and It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia. 

There hasn’t been any information regarding this series’s synopsis, but with Yeun, Wong, A24 and Lee Sun Jin involved, it will be nothing short of spectacular.
