The Walking Dead: Gardener Jerry will play an important part in Diverged

The Walking Dead episode “Diverged” will air Sunday, March 28 on AMC and will be available to stream on AMC+ on March 25. This episode is the second Carol and Daryl episode of the six bonus episodes. Another featured character will be Jerry.
Jerry has always been the right-hand man to King Ezekiel. The two of them were inseparable while they were running the Kingdom. When they were forced to abandon the Kingdom, the two characters had to find new footing in this apocalyptic world. Jerry, his wife Nabila and their children relocated to Hilltop.
In the episode “Look at the Flowers,” Ezekiel decides to go with Eugene to meet up with Stephanie. Before he leaves, Jerry and King Ezekiel share a special moment. Jerry tries to talk Ezekiel out of going along on this mission as he was concerned for his friend’s health. Ezekiel feels he needs to go and charges Jerry with carrying on the Kingdom’s legacy, and as Jerry gets ready to call him “boss,” he stops calling him Ezekiel instead.
What part will Jerry play in Carol and Daryl’s story in the episode “Diverged”?
In the episode “Find Me,” Carol states that Jerry has been stepping up at Alexandria and taking charge of some things. The official teaser for “Diverged” shows Jerry tending gardens and other jobs at Alexandria. When Carol returns without Daryl, he knows something has gone wrong.
In the teaser, we see Jerry’s look of concern for Carol, knowing something went wrong on her hunting trip with Daryl. In another scene, we see both Carol and Jerry working on different tasks. As he passes her, he tells her if she needs anything, let him know.
Jerry is always a compassionate person, and he and Carol have a history from when she was married to Ezekiel. As Ezekiel’s best friend, there had to be close interaction between the two. We never see this relationship and what it entailed, but Jerry seems to get on well with everyone, and Carol would be no exception.
Will Jerry be able to help Carol move past her fight with Daryl and help her move on to whatever comes next? It will be great to see Jerry with more screen time and see the part he has to play.
