The Walking Dead Universe is about to become even larger. Last week there were announcements of AMC venturing into digital productions, and one of those productions will be Run the Dish.  This will be an apocalyptic cooking show that will include TWDU talent alongside celebrity chefs to prepare food you can make in an apocalypse.

AMC has now announced another digital project titled Dead in the Water, which will take place on a submarine. That is a scary concept, being stuck unwater in a metal coffin with no escape from walkers. Not a situation I would want to find myself in!

This series will be linked to the sixth season of Fear The Walking Dead that will return to AMC on April 11. It isn’t clear if we will get a tie-in during the Fear TWD episodes or perhaps we’ve already seen some of the hints in the early episodes of season six.

The Walking Dead Universe is expanding by leaps and bounds

Many off-shoot projects are being announced, which means the fandom will not die with the eleventh and final season of the flagship series The Walking Dead.  Social media is alive with fans that are for and against the continued expansion of TWDU.

This year has given us 4 of the six bonus episodes of The Walking Dead, with two more coming on March 28 and April 4. TWD has started filming its final season, and episodes are expected before the year’s end. As mentioned above, Fear TWD will release the remaining episodes of its sixth season and has already started filming its seventh.

The second limited spinoff, World Beyond, is filming its second and final season. The Tales of The Walking Dead anthology series will be individual stories that could take place in the past, present, or future storyline. And, the Carol and Daryl spinoff that Norman Reedus has said will be ‘a different flavor.’

Personally, I want to see this franchise continue. I think some of these ideas are outstanding, and I look forward to seeing what they do with them.
