This is the year of Steven Yeun. Just two weeks ago, Yeun was nominated as the first-ever Asian-American for an Oscar in the Lead Actor category for his work in Minari.  Then the news came that he will star in a Netflix series Beef with Ali Wong.

Today, Twitter is abuzz when Deadline shared that Yeun will star in Jordan Peele’s new film for Universal. Yeun will join Keke Palmer in the film, and Daniel Kaluuya is also in negotiations to star in his film.

Peele and Ian Cooper will produce under their Monkeypaw Productions as part of a five-year deal with Universal. The film is set to release on July 22, 2022, but there have been no details about the film, as is common practice with Peele’s movies.

Steven Yeun has become quite the commodity as far as actors are concerned.

When he played Glenn Rhee on The Walking Dead, he was a fan favorite. He was always a voice of reason and thought things through before acting. When Negan brutally beat him, fans weren’t happy. It was a sad day when Glenn left the series.

Since then, he has been a busy guy. He has starred in the Korean psychological thriller Burning. He received the National Society of Film Critics Award for Best Supporting Actor for his work in that film.

He starred alongside Samara Weaving in the over-the-top action comedy horror Mayhem. It was such a great film that combined carnage and comedy.

He is also the lead character in Robert Kirkman’s adult animated superhero series Invincible. Yeun plays Mark Grayson, son of the powerful Omni-man. Marks superpower starts to develop after this 17th birthday. This series has received positive reviews from fans of the comic book and people who are only watching for the stacked cast. The series stars the following TWD cast members Khary Payton – Black Samson, Lauren Cohan – War Woman, Chad Coleman – Martian Man, Michael Cudlitz – Red Rush, Lennie James – Darkwing, Ross Marquand – The Immortal & Aquarius and Sonequa Martin-Green – Green Ghost.
