MVP from The Walking Dead episode 1022 Here’s Negan

The Walking Dead final bonus episode, “Here’s Negan,” gave us an amazing backstory to Negan (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) and his wife, Lucille (Hiliarie Burton Morgan). We saw a different side to him, which may not change your opinion of the character, but you could see what made him into the villain he became.
The tender love story pulled at many many viewers’ heartstrings. Not that anything could ever excuse his actions as leader of the saviors, but this episode gave us a look at what made him snap.
Losing someone you love, especially in the way Negan lost Lucille, would do crazy things to a person.
THIS WEEK’S MVP FOR HERE’S NEGAN – LUCILLE
Lucille put up with a lot where Negan was concerned. She did lose her cool when she found Negan playing video games instead of searching for a job. When she asked him about his progress on the job front, he gave her a vague answer about some possibilities.
When she found out that he made the extravagant purchase of the infamous leather jacket when he had no income, she held her cool much better than most people would.
She reminded him of her doctor’s appointment, and he told her he couldn’t come. This was a moment when viewers could feel her hurt and disappointment, knowing what information she would discover at this appointment. It showed Negan’s callousness in the way he brushed her health aside.
Immediately after her doctor tells her she has cancer, Lucille discovers that her husband and best friend were having an affair, she kept that news to herself. Talk about ‘stand by your man.’
It also makes the scene where she comes out of the house dragging her IV tree to save Negan from the walker even more impressive. Not only was she very sick, but she still saved him when a lot of wives would have just let the walker eat him for all of his past actions.
So, bravo, Lucille, for putting up with Negan and saving his sorry butt!
