5) After Carol tells Jerry her plan to make a soup, and about the fish, nuts, and mushrooms she found in the woods, and how she’ll “…make it work”, Jerry replies, “You always do.” This is the same thing Daryl says to Carol when she raises her concerns about feeding everyone in the community just before the two split up in the woods.

6) Jerry’s status report to Carol and Dog’s rampage through Daryl’s place brings up an interesting problem never before addressed in The Walking Dead: Rats. Considering how long the group have been living in places for long periods of time like the prison, Alexandria, and Hilltop, it’s surprising that they’ve only just now run into the rather serious problem of rats. Maybe they should try to find some cats to take in.

7) As Carol brings Dog into Daryl’s place, she sees the books he’s been reading. At the top of the pile is The Golden Age Of Piracy. I feel like this is just the sort of book Daryl would read.

8) Carol killing walkers in the background of an otherwise bucolic scene of the field and butterflies is strangely reminiscent of the beginning of “One More,” where we heard Aaron and Father Gabriel killing walkers in a similar setting, minus the blood, of course.

9) As Daryl is searching for a hose for his motorcycle, he stumbles upon a trio of abandoned cars in the middle of the woods. How the hell did they get out there? There doesn’t seem to be a paved road for miles around.
