Christian Serratos: Selena: The Series part 2 release date and new teaser
By Renee Hansen
Tuesday, May 4, The Walking Dead’s Christian Serratos will grace our screens again with her Tejano sweetheart Selena portrayal in the Netflix original Selena: The Series part 2. Deadline has reported that this will be the final installment of the series.
The first part of the series was released in December 2020 and consisted of nine episodes. This part of the series ended when her family found out about her relationship with guitarist Chris Perez (Jesse Posey). This angered Selena’s father, Abraham (Ricardo Antonio Chavira), and he immediately kicked Chris off the tour and out of the band.
In addition to a release date, there is also a new trailer of Serratos in one of the iconic outfits made famous by Selena. Each member of the band is also featured as they perform the popular Bidi Bidi Bom Bom. It is a beautifully done trailer, and Serratos looks amazing!
What portion of Selena’s story will be featured in part two of the series?
The first part of the series focused on Selena and her family in the early years and high and low points along the way. The series ends right after they hire Yolanda Saldivar to handle Selena’s fan club’s managing, and Abraham finds out about Selena’s relationship with Chris.
Part two will focus on Selena’s career as it gains momentum and the starting of her clothing line, and the success she experiences there. During this time in her life, she was juggling family, love, and career with her family’s full support.
Fans of Selena know the rest of the story, and the series will most likely end with the sad story of her murder by her fan club manager. Although Selena’s life was cut short much too early, she continues to retain her fans while the series and movie starring Jennifer Lopez have gained her a whole new group of fans.
Selena was an icon, and her death affected many people, but her legacy lives on.
Be sure to catch part 2 of Selena: the series on Netflix May 4, starring Christian Serratos.
