Fear The Walking Dead, SROTW: Bad Things Happen To Bad People
By Liam O'Leary
3) People Will Remember What You Did Before
“Before what?” Take your pick. I specifically chose this picture because one of the Outcasts who wanted to see Virginia dead was Rollie, who was part of Logan’s group working for Virginia before she gunned Logan and the rest of the group down for not forcing Morgan and company out of Tank Town. Rollie hadn’t forgotten what Virginia did to his friends and wanted to pay her back.
Of course, I could just as easily mean “Before the outbreak,” too.
I’ve often talked about how the apocalypse will be a thoroughly lawless world, meaning that people can, effectively, do whatever they want. Usually, I mean this as despicable people deciding to do despicable things to otherwise innocent people now that there are no laws to stop them, but, in this instance, I’m thinking the other way around.
For example: What do you think would happen if someone met a person they knew scammed them or someone in their family out of their life savings? Do you think the scammer would get out of that meeting alive? Somehow…I don’t.
This is the sort of thing I’m talking about. If someone’s done some serious damage to someone else before the apocalypse, don’t think for one second that that person doesn’t have a world of hurt coming their way. If they’re lucky enough to survive and unlucky enough to have their victims survive, their day will come, and whatever horrible thing they’ve done in the past will be returned to them.
It pays to be nice to people…you never know when a zombie apocalypse might hit, and give them an excuse to take whatever bad things you might have done to them out of your hide.
