Fear The Walking Dead has been on fire in season six. I can tell you I am one of the fans who lost interest in the earlier seasons, but this season has brought me right back into the thick of things. And, I am here for this new badass June Dorie (Jenna  Elfman).

Morgan Jones (Lennie James) has always been a favorite character of mine, so that is the main reason I have stuck with the series. There is just something about him that draws me to this character. I don’t know if it is because he started in The Walking Dead at the very beginning or just the inherently good character. Whatever the case, I am glad that I have stuck it out even when I wasn’t that thrilled with the series.

In episode 6×08, June suffered a loss that no one should have to go through. Her husband John (Garret Dillahunt) was killed by a bratty, emotional teen, Dakota (Zoe Colletti), who is a brilliant actress, by the way. Then June had to find his reanimated corpse along the river and sit there watching him fumble around on the ground, knowing full well the task she would have to do next.

What else is in store for June Dorie in season six and beyond?

When we see June in episode 6×09, she is digging a hole to bury her husband’s body. It is an emotional scene, but June isn’t shedding any tears. She is angry because she saved Virginia’s (Colby Minifie) life, and in return, Virginia’s sister, who we find out is actually her daughter, kills the man she loves. She wants to know why and Virginia can’t answer this question.

The look of resignation on June’s face makes the viewer feel that she might give up. That the emotional tole of losing John after all they had been through might push her over the edge. When she arrives at the new location, Morgan is building up and agrees to join them; it looks like she might be doing ok.

When we come to the scene where Morgan, June and Alicia are in the cell where they are holding Virginia, it is quite shocking that June is so composed. And, it is even more shocking to know June took the bullet out of Virginia, saving her life, once again, and has agreed to let Virginia leave with Dakota in tow as long as they agree never to return.

But, the anger was still there, just lying in wait for the opportune time. During her conversation with Virginia, June blames her for protecting Dakota when she knew she was a murderer. If Virginia would have dealt with her when she knew Dakota was responsible for Camerons’ murder, John would still be alive. She simple states, “It was you, Virginia. You were the reason. You always were.” Then she shoots her in the head, puts John’s hat on her head, and purposefully walks out of Morgan’s idyllic community. Talk about an exit!

Where will she go next? It’s unclear, but there seven more episodes in this season, and I think

things are about to get very interesting!
