Cole explains there is a new group that is a major threat that calls themselves the Reapers. This is the group who is responsible for the destruction of the village they most recently lived in. Maggie and her group believe the Reapers have followed them and are responsible for burning the rendezvous location. Burning seems to be the group’s MO.

Daryl finds Hershel footprints among the others who had fled when the location was attacked. The group tracks the footprints, determined to find the missing members of their group. During their search, they come upon Maya, a member of Maggie’s group, and are then joined by Gus and Ainsley. They inform Maggie that Matty was killed in the woods, and although they didn’t see who did it, they are certain it was a Reaper. Kim and Hershel went off together, and that is the last they saw of Hershel.

Gus is shot in the neck by an unseen threat. Ainsley is then shot in the stomach, and when Maya runs to help her and she is also shot. All three die from the gunshots.
