As I stated at the beginning of this article, season 10c was very light on deaths. “Splinter” and “Diveraged” didn’t contain any notable deaths. That is because these are stand-alone character-centric episodes that focused on the storyline instead of advancing the overall story of the series.

In “Here’s Negan,” fans knew there would be a heartbreaking death scene since this is an origin story, and we all knew Lucille’s fate. We learned a lot about Negan and his marriage to Lucille in this episode. It was a roller coast of emotion where we hated Negan, love him, and then hated him again.

Lucille’s death was dramatic and so emotional. Negan left in search of more medicine for her and was gone for 6 weeks. When he returned, she had tied herself to the bed, overdosed on some medicine, and put a plastic bag over her head to ensure the job she set to do was done. She had reanimated by the time Negan found her, and he was grief-stricken. He didn’t have the heart to kill her in her walker state but instead set fire to the house.

Since Craven and his Vipers held him up in getting the meds to Lucille and beat him while trying to find out where he got the drugs, Negan was ready to exact his revenge on them. After setting the house on fire, he returned to the Vipers bar and proceeded to kill them. With Craven tied up, Negan explains that he had never killed a man until that night. And, the viewer knows this is only the beginning for him. He then bashes Craven’s head in with his weapon of choice, Lucille.
