Fear The Walking Dead’s Colby Minifie bids farwell to the series cast and crew

Fear The Walking Dead has shocked viewers with not one but two unexpected deaths. In 6×08 “Door,” we saw fan-favorite John Dorie (Garret Dillahunt) killed, reanimate and put down by his wife. Then in the following episode, 6×09, “Things Left to Do,” June Dorie (Jenna Elfman) shot Virginia (Colby Minifie) as she feels Virginia is ultimately responsible for her husband’s death.

Virginia was quite the villain in this series, and most viewers felt June was justified in her actions. The fact that fans loved to hate Virginia is a testimony to the talent Minifie possesses. She gave life to Virginia and created a wonderful dynamic in this storyline.

Virginia’s final episode was a touch-and-go where the viewer was unsure what Morgan (Lennie James) would do. Two groups were out for Virginia’s blood, and Morgan, always the peacemaker, had to decide the best course of action. When it was announced that they would let Virginia and Dakota go if they promised never to return, something felt off. Why would they all agree to this? So, when June took her revenge, things felt right again.

The storyline of Virginia and her rangers has come to a close, and Minifie took to social media to express her gratitude and emotions regarding her departure from the series. She posted two beautifully written good-bye posts, both accompanied by many photos of her time on the series. She is cast in a new project, Lemons, a film about two estranged sisters who are tasked with cleaning out their grandmother’s house after her death. This task will force the sister to confront their relationship status.
