1) Strand

Strand is an easy target for suspicion if we are honest. For nearly the entire time we’ve known him in the show, he’s always been scheming, always had a plan for things, and, let’s not kid ourselves: He’s betrayed people on more than one occasion. Sarah didn’t just suspect him for no reason he’s got a history with this sort of thing.

However, let’s take a step back and look at the larger picture of Strand for a minute. Yes, Strand has a bad habit of betraying people, he also can be loyal when he wants to be. Despite making a deal with Proctor John to take the Gonzalez Dam in season three, Strand also tried to sneak Madison and Nick out of the dam to avoid being hurt by the Proctors. And, he accepted a job as one of Virginia’s rangers, but rather than shoot his friends, he turned against Virginia. Giving him the leverage he needed to ensure his rangers would stand with him.

Also, when Strand’s boyfriend, Thomas Abigail, was dying from a walker bite in season two, rather than acquiesce to the weird, arcane request of Thomas’s maid, Celia, Strand did what he believed Thomas would have wanted and put him down, rather than let him linger on as a walker. I bring this up because, if Strand was going to ignore pragmatism (Celia made it clear she was not going to be happy with him if he put Thomas down) and not go along with the menacing cult surrounding him in Mexico, why we do that now when he has a hell of a lot more people and guns backing him up? Sarah suggests it was to be some big shot, but he’s already taken over the Pioneers (Including all of their communities, judging by him finding Skidmark at the bowling alley), so what else would he need?

Likelihood Of Being The Spy: Low
