Fear The Walking Dead, Handle With Care: Things To Note
By Liam O'Leary
1) This episode, much like the last one, begins with a quick “Previously” recap, going over the events of the last episode.
2) This episode gets its name from not only the Traveling Wilbury’s song Daniel plays at the beginning of his recall of the day’s events, but also (According to showrunner Andrew Chambliss) the fragile nature both of the group’s cohesion, as well as Daniel’s mental state.
3) Upon arriving at the dam, Sarah discusses with Sherry and Rollie the possibility of them sharing the MRAP with her, Wendell, and June. Still, Sherry rebuffs the idea, claiming that the vehicle is running on fumes. Clearly, no one has found a new oil field or managed to reclaim Tank Town after The Beginners’ attack back in “Bury Her Next To Jasper’s Leg.”
4) While talking to Sarah, Sherry, Rollie, Strand, and Ranger Samuels, Morgan mentions how The Beginners were “Something that Virginia didn’t think she could handle.” So…does that mean she did discuss them with Morgan while taking her to the dam?
5) While we do find out eventually when the camera pans back from Daniel at the end of the pre-title sequence, we don’t see anyone talking to him, which, considering what is revealed about Daniel’s mental state, raises even more questions about said mental state (Like, whether he’s suffering hallucinations).
