Colman Domingo shared some amazing news. He is going to be a professor at the University of Southern California. Domingo currently stars in Fear the Walking Dead as the mysterious Victor Strand.

Domingo will start as a guest lecturer and master artist at the university in the fall of 2021, and once filming is wrapped on his current projects, he will start teaching full time in Fall 2022.  He will work with both undergraduates and graduates, utilizing his diverse talents to shape the next generation of graduates.

He is an award-winning actor, director, and playwright who is a passionate advocate for social change in the US. This position will allow Domingo to share his gifts and help transform the future of entertainment.

What does this news mean for Fear the Walking Dead’s Victor Strand?

Of course, the selfish part in me says, “What about Strand?” Since season one, Victor Strand has been with the series and loves him or hate him; he is vital to the storyline.  Fear the Walking Dead is currently filming the seven season of the series. There is no news about an eighth season, but hopefully, we get Domingo for the duration of the series. If not, I hope Strand goes out in a blaze of glory!

If you have never check Domingo’s other projects, you are missing out. You can currently see him on Amazon Prime alongside Michael B. Jordan in Without Remorse. He also starred in Netflix’s Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom with Viola Davis and the late Chadwick Boseman. He will star in another highly anticipated project in Jordan Peele’s Candyman reboot, due in theaters on August 27, 2021.

Domingo had this to say regarding this new exciting opportunity.

"“I am thrilled to be joining the faculty at USC,” said Domingo. “I’ve had the opportunity to connect and work with some of the incredible students and faculty of the School of Dramatic Arts over the past few years, and I feel like I’ve found an institution that believes in the core values that I possess that is fundamental when working with the next generation of artists that will shape the future of theatre, film and television.”"

Best of luck to Colman Domingo and his new adventure.
