5) Your Mistakes Today, Are Your Problems Tomorrow

As I just finished saying in the previous entry, no one can control the future, but we can try to prepare for it.

Now, obviously, we can’t really predict the future that much, either, but, like I also said, we can make educated guesses, and, oftentimes, in a zombie apocalypse, that’s the best thing we’ve got. One educated guess you can make is that things you do (Or fail to do) can come back to bite you later on.

I definitely can’t cover everything, but what I can tell you is that, even though we can’t necessarily predict what will happen, one thing we can predict is that if you go into a zombie apocalypse unprepared, you’re going to give yourself more trouble than you need later on down the line.

It would be best if you prepared for things like food or water shortages, sieges (Either by hostiles or zombies), droughts, storms, blizzards, or wildfires (Depending on your region), communication breakdowns, or disease outbreaks. Additionally, it would help if you tried to make sure your base’s defenses are as strong as can be. You’d never forgive yourself if your base was breached because someone was lazy and either didn’t bother to patch a break in the perimeter or didn’t even bother to inspect for such weaknesses in the first place.

While predicting the future perfectly is impossible, we can have a general idea of problems that can happen. It’s better for us to at least try to be ready for those things we can prepare for rather than make a huge (And preventable) mistake by just sitting on our asses and doing nothing to be ready for the problems that most likely will come.

The future is what you make of it, so don’t make it a disaster if you don’t have to.
