Aisha Tyler takes over Fear the Walking Dead’s IG page

Aisha Tyler made her TWDU directorial debut in this week’s Fear the Walking Dead episode “J.D.” The episode comes on the heels of losing John Dorie (Garret Dillahunt) and Grace’s (Karen David) baby.

Tyler had commented that she was a fan before she became involved with the series making it more excited to direct this episode. She is known for directing and acting in the series Criminal Minds. She had roles in Archer, XIII: The Series, Ghost Whisperer, 24 and CSI: Crime Scene Investigation. She also played the role of Charlie on Friends. During nine episodes of seasons nine and ten, Tyler’s character appeared in nine episodes where she was first Joey’s love interested and then became Ross’s girlfriend.

Next, she will star in Untitled Horror Movie (UHM), a horror-comedy where six co-stars learn their series is about to be canceled, so they shoot their own film, but in the process, accidentally summon a violent spirit.  She will also voice Millie Tuskmon in Monsters at Work, a Monsters Inc. series that takes place 6 months after the original movie.

Ahead of the AMC release of the episode, Tyler took over the Fear the Walking Dead Instagram to give us some BTS photos and great insight into the episode.

This episode had a lot of action and movement with the horses and the RV, making it difficult to film. Tyler did an amazing job, and some of the shots were just outstanding. Tyler shares a photo of herself with one of the actors from the episode. It was one of the horses, and she said she had never directed horses before.

This episode introduces the new character John Dorie Sr. (Keith Carradine). It will be interesting to see where this character takes the group as he has valuable information on Teddy (John Glover), the leader of the Beginners.

Fear the Walking Dead returns to AMC on Sunday, May 23, with the episode titled “Mother.” The synopsis for this episode reads: While held prisoner by Teddy, Alicia reunites with old friends and must confront her past.
