Fear the Walking Dead: Is the return character for 614 who we think it is?

Fear the Walking Dead dropped a surprise on viewers when John Dorie’s father, John Dorie Sr., appeared in the most recent episode. This character has strong ties to Teddy Maddox, the cult leader that is holding Alicia prisoner.

In the first promo for “Mother,” Alicia is seen outside the compound walls with Teddy, and she says, “Is that you?” This has stirred up the fandom with thoughts that it is her mother Madison returning, who has been assumed dead for quite some time.

There has been much chatter and disagreements about her return. Some have speculated that Madison is a fighter, and if anyone could have survived, it would be her. Others believe Alicia’s reaction would be much more emotional if she finally had a reunion with her mother.

The newest teaser for Fear the Walking Dead reveals a return character

You can see the teaser for “Mother” below, and we see Alicia’s first encounter with Dakota since John Dorie and Virginia’s deaths. It seems Dakota has decided to join Teddy and his cult. She seems to think that if she teams up with Alicia, they could kill him. Alicia makes it very clear she will not be teaming up with her.

In this teaser, which came out after the promo, it is revealed that Cole (Sebastian Sozzi) from season 4, who lived in the Dell Diamond Baseball Stadium community, successfully escaped when the stadium was overrun.

Now the question comes, if Cole was able to survive, wouldn’t Madison have also survived? This would set the fandom in a tizzy as many long for her to return to the series. Can you imagine Madison coming alongside Morgan and the others? They would be amazing together.

Also, why would they build up a mystery person to be revealed and then give it away in a teaser ahead of the episode’s airing? This makes me think there is more to come.

We also see a comical and creepy look at Teddy, Alicia and Dakota in a pick-up truck and what seems to be why the episode is titled “Mother.”
