Lennie James to star in Old Vic production: A Number
By Renee Hansen
Lennie James has been a fan favorite since season one of The Walking Dead. He has done remarkable work as Morgan Jones in the franchise. In January 2022, James will appear in a play titled A Number at the Old Vic theater in London.
James’s character Morgan Jones aided our hero Rick Grimes (Andrew Lincoln) at the beginning of the series. Throughout his time in TWDU, he has been separated and reconnected with Rick more than once. Morgan eventually crossed over to the spin-off series, Fear the Walking Dead, and during his time on that series has transformed into a dynamic leader.
Currently, on Fear the Walking Dead, Morgan is building a community with the help of many others. There are serious threats they will need to face, and hopefully, this community is ready to ban together to withstand whatever comes at them.
Lennie James to appear in the play, A Number, which will begin performances in January 2022
The Old Vic theatre is located in London, and James will appear in the production of A Number, a play written by Caryl Churchill and will be directed by Lyndsey Turner. The play will run from January 24-March 19, 2022. This will be a live performance, so if you don’t live there, you probably won’t’ be able to see it.
The play was written in 2002 and follows a conflict between a father (James) and his sons; Paapa Essiedu plays all 3. The story focuses on human cloning as two of the sons are clones of the first one.
You may remember that Andrew Lincoln played Ebenezer Scrooge in The Old Vic’s production of A Christmas Carol in December 2020. This production was available online, allowing many of Lincoln’s overseas fans to view him in this production.
If you are disappointed, you won’t see James in A Number; you can see him in action in other roles. He did an outstanding job as Nelly in the series Save Me and Save Me Too. This British tv series was created and written by James. He plays Nelly, a ‘down-and-out’ searching for his estranged daughter who has mysteriously disappeared. There are two seasons of this series and at the writing of this article are available on Peacock.
Congrats to Lennie James on the play A Number with performances in 2022.
