The Walking Dead season 11 first look photos have been released

The Walking Dead series will end its long run with the eleventh season that will premiere on AMC on August 22. This date is quickly approaching, and fans are anxious to find out anything about this final series. Entertainment Weekly has exclusive first look photos. (click the link to see all the photos)
The first and second photos show Rosita, Carol, Maggie and Lydia in what looks to be a CRM facility surrounded by walkers. The helicopter in the background and what looks to be military garb on the walkers leads us to believe this could be the CRM. But, we also need to think back to when Daryl encountered the walkers in the season 10 episode “Diverged,” dressed in similar military fatigues and we never found out where they came from. We’ve also been introduced to the Reapers, who were after Maggie and her new group and also wore fatigues. So many questions from the two photos.
The third photo shows Negan in the woods swinging at a walker with a crowbar. The last time we saw Negan, he was walking back into Alexandria after Carol attempted to exile him from the community to keep him away from Maggie. He took it upon himself to return to the community to face whatever will come his way.
What do we know so far about season 11 of The Walking Dead?
The tenth season overcame many obstacles due to the pandemic, including postponed release dates and struggles with filming, which resulted in bonus episodes. This bonus season looked at a much different series in the 10c season. Many fans were not thrilled with this season with a much different look and feel than what they are used to. But, showrunner Angela Kang has reassured everyone that season 11 will come back as the series that we know and love.
Kang has also stated that we will see a big story coming involving Negan and Maggie. This is something fans are looking forward to as there has never been a real resolution to the tension between these two characters. Leah will most likely return, as she has more story to live out. Daryl’s storyline will be something like we’ve never seen from him. There is also the new group that captured Eugene, Ezekiel, Princess and Yumiko. Alexandria is trying to rebuild after the Whisperer War, and if any of the new threats were to attack them, they would be in a world of hurt. And don’t forget that no one besides Virgil knows Connie is alive!
The realization that The Walking Dead is coming to an end is finally becoming a reality as the premiere date looms closer. It is a bittersweet time in the fandom. We are anxious to see this next season but know that after the 24 episodes air, that will be the end of this part of TWDU. Hopefully, the spin-offs can live up to the legacy that the flagship series will leave behind.
