Fear The Walking Dead, Survival Rule Of The Week: Know What You’re Getting Into
By Liam O'Leary
“So, are you ready to do this?”
This is what Morgan asked Strand at the beginning of this week’s episode of Fear The Walking Dead. The pair, along with most of their friends, stood overlooking the U.S.S. Pennsylvania, a nuclear-armed submarine beached in Galveston, Texas.
It was a fair question to ask; after all, the ship was a submarine (Which are notoriously tight and confined). It was a fair bet that it still housed most of its crew (Who, by this time, would have been walkers), and they were tasked with stopping a death cult from launching nuclear warheads across the continental United States. If ever there was a time to ask if people were ready, that was it.
After this week’s harrowing episode of Fear The Walking Dead, it’s clear you must know what you’re getting into to survive in a zombie apocalypse.
The more important thing, though, might have been Strand’s response: “I’m guessing that’s a rhetorical question.”
You see, by that point, as they’re literally at the Pennsylvania, there was no going back. Whether they were ready or not wasn’t really a question: They were as ready as they were ever going to be. They had to be. Everyone there knew what they had to do and what the consequences were if they failed.
That’s why, for this week’s Fear The Walking Dead, Survival Rule Of The Week, we’re focusing on one of my favorite things: Preparing. And, the first step in preparing for a zombie apocalypse is knowing what’s in store for you. The more you know, the more you can prepare.
