Season 11 of The Walking Dead will be sure to hold many surprises with unexpected twists and turns. It can never quite be predicted what will happen next, as we have seen over the past 11 years. From officer Rick Grimes waking up from his coma to Negan and Daryl’s feud leading them to team up to defeat Beta, this show’s evolution is quite insane.

One thing for sure, fans of the series are highly anticipating the beginning of the final season on August 22nd. The season 10 conclusion left us with major cliffhangers. Maggie’s intense ‘if looks could kill’ stare at Negan, the Alexandria community noticing Eugene’s group’s disappearance and Connie being taken by Virgil leaves many doors open.

Every season of the show has offered us new insights and things to look into with ever-changing settings. Season 11 has just as much, if not more, to show us as this chapter in the TWDU concludes.

5 questions in season 11 of The Walking Dead

5. Can Maggie Forgive Negan? The history with this pair goes way beyond Negan being a spaghetti stealer. After Glenn’s brutal murder by Negan, Maggie refuses to see any kind of changed man in Negan. We saw this in 1016 Home Sweet Home when Maggie displays her agitation at the fact Alexandria has given him quite a decent role in the community growing tomatoes and dealing with agriculture. But, could we see Maggie somehow forgive Negan in the next 24 episodes? Will there be a point in which he could save Hershel Jr as he has with Judith and Dog? Would this even be enough for him to win the affection of Maggie? This relationship can continue to be a petri dish of awkward stares and hate or, we could see some forgiveness toward Negan and his dark past. I am very excited to find out!

4. Will Connie be found? The last thing we have seen of Connie was a bit too walker-like for comfort. After being on the ground for what must have been quite a while, we see Virgil find her and it appears as though he is taking her away. I really hope it is back to a community so she isn’t left alone again. Fans can see her brought back to Luke, Kelly, Magna (who believes she was crushed in the explosion) and safety. But can Virgil be trusted? He has had a very questionable past after his kidnapping of Michonne, but we have seen characters turn themselves around on more than one basis – let’s hope this is his major redemption.

3. Can Stephanie save the day? King Ezekiel, Princess, Yumiko and Eugene are all currently being held at the Commonwealth. As we saw in 1020 Splinter, these soldiers haven’t treated the group fairly at all. But, the anticipation of Stephanie’s arrival could really shake things up and save the group from any more train cart lock-ins!  Is Stephanie really who she told Eugene she is over the radio or has he been manipulated? We could see Stephanie be at the root of these soldier’s questions and back them up. Or she could fully save the day, free the group so they can go back to Alexandria and she and Eugene can ride off into the sunset on horseback. Somehow, I feel she will intervene but maybe the group’s escape won’t be as plain sailing as hoped.

2. Will Daryl and Carol make up? Who doesn’t want to see this iconic duo make up! They have been through way too much together to let this latest surge of friction come between them. Maybe Daryl gifting Carol his pocket knife is the new start of them making up, I sure hope it is. They may have closed their doors at the end of Diverged, but this won’t be the end of them.  Maybe the friendship bracelet will reappear! We may see them have a long conversation exposing their faults, finding their common ground again. They are both strong solo, but also together. And togetherness in the apocalyptic World is a gift.

1. Rick’s Return? That is a largely speculated and discussed question that we will all have to wait to find out. But if Rick returns then there is a large chance Michonne could be by his side. If the couple returns to Alexandria then that would be the reunion of the century!

I am sure Season 11will be action-packed, filled with every single emotion there is and we will get all the answers we need – until then the #TWDFamily can get hyped for the surprises in store!
