The Walking Dead season 10 will be available to stream on Netflix on July 26. This will give fans plenty of time to binge-watch the most recent season before the final season’s premiere.

The eleventh season of the long-running apocalyptic series has a lot to live up to. The first season of the series set the story’s tone, and most fans will agree that those early episodes are the best of the series. There was a sense of bonding with the characters that just isn’t the same in some of the later seasons. This is most likely due to the fact that there are multiple communities with many more characters.

Showrunner Angela Kang has done many interviews regarding the final season and has been very candid about what fans can expect. She told Entertainment Weekly that the series would come back to the same scope and scale that fans are used to.

"“So we’ll start seeing more stories again like the first episode — it’s got everybody on earth in the episode. And tons of zombies and lots of action and fun and intrigue, and locations we’ve never seen, and things like that. So just stylistically, there will be a change from these six [episodes] that we just watched back into our normal season.”"

The Walking Dead season 11 release date

The Walking Dead usually airs its new seasons in the fall. The delays caused by the pandemic and all the changes required to keep the cast and crew safe during this time have altered the normal schedule. Season 11 will see a summer premiere date of August 22 on AMC. Most fans have not complained about this as it is months ahead of what a regular-season would start.

The final season will consist of 24 episodes, released in 3 parts which will contain 8 episodes each. Many storylines have been left open-ended from the previous season that will most likely be answered or resolved in the final season.

This photo of a group of walkers in an abandoned subway car indicates they are in a city. The official synopsis explains how badly impacted Alexandria has been from the Whisperer war, which is complicated by the influx of new residents from the Kingdom, Hilltop and Maggie’s group, the Wardens. Things are bleak with all those new mouths to feed and the crops being destroyed, to say the least. Now the group will have to work hard to fortify Alexandria to keep everyone safe and look for food for the growing number of people. This could force them to expand their search for food leading them into a city. With the rundown condition of this subway car and the presence of this many walkers, it doesn’t look like this would be in the Commonwealth.

Another interesting photo shows Alden, Elijah, Cole, Maggie, Negan, Daryl, Dog, and Father G., accompanied by Frost, Duncan, and C. Thomas Howell’s unnamed character. They look to be in a subway tunnel, from the tracks that are visible in the photo. In the comic book, Frost is a Commonwealth soldier, so perhaps this group makes it to Commonwealth early in the season, which would give us a lot of storyline with that group.

It will be hard to wait until August to find out answers to our MANY questions.
