There are undoubtedly many great places in Florida to hide out from a zombie apocalypse, and in a state with so many renowned locations, it may be hard to choose the right spot to survive the threat of the living dead. A study suggests that the best place to be is not Orlando, Tampa Bay, or Miami, but it is, in fact, Deltona, FL.

Deltona is on the coast, which is always a plus when dealing with the undead. They are not a fan of water, and the fact that the state that this particular city finds itself in is mostly made of swamplands filled with hungry gators would absolutely aid any ambitious survivor’s efforts to withstands being eaten by a cannibal corpse.

The study also accounts for the number of weapons a place would be able to stockpile based on gun owners and the state’s regulations on firearms. Deltona is part of a state that is very favorable to people that like to exercise their second amendment rights. The weather down there is also not ideal, so folks are used to surviving hurricanes all the time, meaning some slow-moving corps people shouldn’t be much of a problem for the many gun-toting Floridians.

The state is also known for utilizing solar energy and hydroelectric power, which would mean residents trying to make it when the grid gets inevitably shut down will have a fighting chance trying to keep Armageddon from happening. Florida also has an abundance of people in the medical and health fields, which also contributed to the fact that Deltona would be an ideal place to hold up until the nightmare comes to an end.
