One thing that keeps the undead world of The Walking Dead alive is the bonds formed by the characters we love. They have kept us glued to our screens since the debut of the show in 2010. They show us that people can survive and locate their way back to their nearest and dearest.

Who doesn’t love a good reunion? Some fan favorites include the adorable moment from 415 “Us” when Glenn and Maggie reunited  in the cave after being separated, and the classic moment Rick saw Lori and Carl again in 103 “Tell It To The Frogs.” Remember the Daryl and Rick meeting in 708 “Hearts Still Beating?” That was just too cute!

If we go back to 2016 to look at 702 “The Well,” there were two new very eccentric personalities that graced us; King Ezekiel (Khary Payton) and Jerry (Cooper Andrews) from The Kingdom! The Walking Dead has never had such a whimsical duo. What can beat a pet tiger? But neither has had an easy road, and as we approach Season 11, it seems it will just get even harder.

The Walking Dead, will there be an Ezekiel and Jerry reunion?

King Ezekiel and Jerry were last together in 1014 “Look at the Flowers” just before the King left for his journey to accompany Yumiko, Princess and Eugene to meet Stephanie. I would say this was both emotional and worrying as it led us to ask if it would be the last time they see each other; let’s pray that it’s not. But, as Ezekiel told Jerry, the Kingdom needs him even though Jerry voiced how much he would miss his buddy. The belief of finding good people is enough to make the selfless King venture forth as they hug and say their goodbyes.

Jerry is an original to the TV Series, unlike Ezekiel, who, in the comics, was sadly murdered by Alpha. We have learned about the King’s cancer, which is becoming more of a prominent storyline. This will most certainly be revisited in Season 11, as we know he is now at the mysterious Commonwealth, which may have the medical supplies needed to help him; I sure do hope so anyway.

As for a reunion, there is a couple of scenarios that fans could see in the upcoming season that will help these best friends together again. Such as Jerry winds up at the Commonwealth maybe after passing the interrogation stage and sees Ezekiel hanging with some animals in the community. Maybe the King escapes and returns to Alexandria; they could meet somewhere else in West Virginia and cross paths literally.

As with each positive scenario, unfortunately, there can be negatives. There may be no reunion for the pals depending on Ezekiel’s changing condition. This would be an absolute tragedy, as he clearly is one of the best characters in the show. It would be the saddest of endings for him and those who hold him close. But, until we can see what this new community has to offer, I think it’s best not to think about this.

Hopefully, we can watch a beautiful and emotive scene where the vibrant pair can continue their adventures in this new world, and the King’s condition improves. Despite the lack of Jerry content in the new promos for Season 11, there is plenty of the King, so we are guaranteed to see him progress, and of course, he won’t put Jerry out of his mind. Come on, TWD, bring them back together!
