The Walking Dead is Negan a good guy now?

Morgan has played the character Negan on The Walking Dead since the season 6 finale. His first episode, “Last Day on Earth,” introduced fans of the series to the man that had only been talked about. The cliffhanger for that season was horrible as fans waited to find out who Negan would bludgeon with his cherished weapon, Lucille.

As the years have passed, Negan has gone through a major transformation and has quite possibly changed his ways. The episode “Here’s Negan” was a bonus episode for season 10, which gave some backstory on what made him into the villain we originally met. It was a heartbreaking tale that gave some insight into the events that lead to what he would become.

Going into season 11, which is the final for the series, Negan has yet to make peace with Maggie. Maggie’s husband Glenn was one of his victims in the season 7 premiere “The Day Will Come When You Won’t Be.” Since that time, Negan has spent many years in jail and eventually became the gardener at Alexandria. He has mellowed and done many things to try and redeem himself. I mean, remember what he did with Alpha in the middle of the woods? Yikes!

The problem is Maggie has been gone for many years and has yet to see that he is a changed man. Season 11 will see something happen between these two characters. I think somehow, things will be smoothed over between them. I don’t see them exchanging friendship bracelets, but perhaps the threat of The Reapers and starvation are greater than any grudges from the past.
