Each year during Comic-Con, The Walking Dead Universe uses the panels to announce amazing things for the series. This year at Comic-Con@Home, Fear The Walking Dead didn’t give fans a trailer as everyone hoped, but other great information was shared.

The most exciting news is that the premiere date for Fear the Walking Dead’s seventh season is October 17. The Walking Dead will air episodes in October, and the second spin-off, The Walking Dead World Beyond, will premiere its second and final season on October 3; October will be the month of TWDU.

The seventh season will continue on the story that ended with a literal bang when Teddy detonated nuclear bombs. This will change everything about the series going forward. Showrunner Ian Goldberg shared that this will alter the walkers, how the character navigates the outside world, as the air is unbreathable unless via a gas mask and resources, that were already hard to come by, will be even more so.

Fear the Walking Dead season 7 first look

The first video shows Morgan and Grace with baby Morgan inside the submarine. This was the closest place for the trio to take cover after the bombs went off. We also see a look outside of the sub where the atmosphere has been drastically altered. The air is thick with radioactive fallout, the walkers are all melty, and Grace must venture out to find food.

The second clip shows June and her father-in-law, John Dorie Sr. in their bunker. They discover a hidden room, and as they search around, they discover that this is where Teddy Maddox killed all the young girls he abducted in the 60s. This room is where he held them and killed them, and by the looks of the blood splatter and deadly-looking tools, it was a torture room.

Fear the Walking Dead’s seventh season is looking to be a major change from what we are used to. Life will be drastically different for each one of the characters in the series.

Another awesome announcement was that Alycia Debnam-Carey will make her directorial debut this season. As an actor who has been with the series since the beginning, this is a logical next step for Debnam-Carey.

Sydney Lemmon, who plays Isabelle, will return, as will Amid Abtahi, Strand’s new friend Howard. Gus Halper will also join the cast as Will. The showrunners were reluctant to give any information regarding his role.
