The Walking Dead: World Beyond announced the premiere date of October 3 for the series at Comic-Con this weekend. Another announcement is that Jelani Aladin has been promoted to series regular. His character Will appeared at the end of season 1, and it will be exciting to get to know more about this character.

Will Campbell was a resident of the Campus Colony until he was transferred to the research facility in New York. This is the same facility that Iris and Hope’s father Leo was moved to. Will served on Leo’s security detail at that facility. We first see Will in “In This Life,” when he is reunited with his boyfriend, Felix.

In the first look clip revealed at Comic-Con, Will has the unpleasant job of informing Iris and Felix that the Omaha Campus has been destroyed. Alladin is a welcome addition to this cast as we head into season 2 of World Beyond.

Other roles played by Jelani Alladin

Jelani Alladin grew up in Brooklyn and attended New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts. In his Broadway debut, he played the role of Kristoff in the musical Frozen. This role was expanded, giving the character three new songs, allowing Alladin to expand Kristoff’s role in the story.

In an interview with Broadway.com, Alladin had this to say about the role:

"To take this character that people know and love, and bring myself into it and really try to deepen who he is and and how he’s transformed because of these two princesses, has been a complete joy."

He also played the titular character in the Public Works staging of Hercules.  Here you can see his amazing performance of “Go the  Distance.”

Alladin is also known for his roles in The Weirdos Next Door, I Didn’t Come Here to Make Love, FBI and Law & Order: Special Victims Unit.

Before making his Broadway debut, Alladin starred in Off-Broadway productions of Sweetee and Choir Boy as well as regional productions of I and You, The History of Boys, Violet and Josephine.

Check out Alladin’s IG page for an amazing photoshoot complete with a walker head as he sits on a motorcycle. It is freaking awesome.  He posted below about his excitement for the upcoming season.
