The Walking Dead’s Rosemary Rodriguez shares nostalgic video
By Renee Hansen
Fans of The Walking Dead follow many of the writers, directors, producers, etc., of the series, lapping up the tidbits they share relative to the show. Director Rosemary Rodriguez is one to follow as she often shares very cool things with the fans. Recently she posted a video of Norman Reedus and Andrew Lincoln on a motorcycle, and this reminds fans just how dynamic this duo was.
As The Walking Dead gets closer and closer to the final season’s premiere, many fans are looking back and remembering the beginnings of the series. When Daryl Dixon (Reedus) and Rick Grimes (Lincoln) met back in “Tell it to the Frogs” from season 1, one would never have dreamed the two characters would eventually become brothers. And, the coolest part is the actors also became best friends.
There were many times at the beginning of The Walking Dead when Rick and Daryl didn’t see eye to eye, and it looked like one of them would inflict pain, or worse, to the other. As time went on, and they became acclimated to the apocalyptic world they were forced into, Rick and Daryl came to a point where they were civil to one another and could peacefully co-exist.
Once the prison fell, and everyone was scattered, many of the characters went through even more traumatic events. When Rick and Daryl reunited after Rick bit out Joe’s throat, the two characters shared a moment, and Rick told Daryl that he is his brother. From this point on, their relationship was much different. They might not have always seen eye to eye, but there was a respect there that hadn’t been before.
Rodrigez shared the video below on her IG account, reminding us just how great these two are together.
Will Daryl Dixon discover Rick Grimes is alive in season 11?
The Walking Dead series will end with season 11, and Daryl Dixon still doesn’t know that his best friend and brother Rick Grimes didn’t die in the bridge explosion. Michonne and Judith know, and obviously, Jadis/Anne knows but doesn’t Virgil also know?
We know that Virgil made his way back to Oceanside and then discovered an alive but exhausted Connie. Rick’s boots were found on his island by Michonne, and although Virgil denies knowing anything about Rick, he knows Michonne is looking for him. Perhaps Virgil will relay this information, and this is what Daryl and Carol head off in search of for their spin-off series.
The Walking Dead will return to AMC on August 22 with the premiere of season 11. AMC+ subscribers will be able to stream this episode one week early.
