In a recent interview with Inverse, Rooker talked about his role in The Suicide Squad film. The most recent film is directed by James Gunn and is a sequel of sorts to David Ayer’s Suicide Squad (2016). A couple of side notes, Gunn has cast Rooker in every one of his films, and this film stars fellow Walking Dead actress Marisol Correa.

Rooker plays Brian Durlin/Savant in The Suicide Squad. He is a ruthless killer who is also a computer hacker who uses his skills for blackmail. Rooker says this character won’t be what you think he is.

He also told Inverse that people get the wrong impression about him.

"I’m open and vivacious, and I joke. [People] meet me in person, and they realize, ‘Oh, he’s not like that at all.’”"

Michael Rooker in Ravagers spinoff?

James Gunn also directed Guardians of the Galaxy that Rooker starred in. He played Yondu, the leader of an exiled faction of the Ravagers. In an interview with the Happy Sad Confused podcast, Gunn stated that he thought the Ravagers would make a great show. He even brought the idea to the attention of Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige, who told him if the Guardians movie was a success, he could do whatever he wanted. It would be awesome to see this series go into production.

That could mean fans of Rooker’s could see more of Yondu and his group. Perhaps this series would take place ahead of the Guardians films so we could see the interaction between a young Peter Quill, an orphan from planet Earth, that Yondu adopted and raised. It would be an exciting prospect to see Yondu again.
