1) As Negan walks through the woods with Carol, she’s carrying a rabbit. This might mean things are looking up for Alexandria, as the community had been desperate for food over the previous few episodes.

2) When Carol brings Negan to Leah’s cabin, she tells him that the council chose to banish him. Negan asks if that’s true, or if his exile is “…more of ‘Carol seizing the reins’ kind of situation?” to which Carol only smiles, suggesting he was right.

3) While at the cabin, Negan sees himself in his classic leather jacket and red scarf combo, reciting his famous “Little pig, little pig, let me in” line from his arrival at Alexandria in season seven’s “Service.” While this line has, obviously, become synonymous with Negan, it wasn’t his line in the comics, instead, it was uttered by the leader of the Scavengers (The equivalent to The Wolves in the show) when they attacked Alexandria after being drawn by Rick’s group’s arrival to the community.

4) After dismissing his Savior self, Negan flashes back first to his defeat by Rick in the season eight finale “Wrath,” then to Michonne informing him that Lucille was still on the same hill the Saviors were defeated on in season nine’s “The Obliged”; A rare instance of a character flashing back to events that we’ve already seen.

5) Craven is (If his vest is anything to go by) from Ohio, which wouldn’t be surprising, considering the close proximity of Ohio to Virginia.
