16) The next flashback (This now being a flashback within a flashback within a flashback within a flashback) takes place “seven months earlier,” so we’re told. The reason I have that in quotes is that it’s unclear whether or not that is seven months before the six weeks Negan was previously describing to Franklin. If so, this would put his capture by the Valak’s Vipers, at most, eight and a half months into the outbreak.

17) During Lucille’s part of the flashback, as she turns on the car following the revelation of her diagnosis, there’s a news report about killers “eating the flesh of the people they kill.” Whether this is in Virginia or some other state, we don’t found out, as Lucille caught the report mid-broadcast, and angrily switched to music before hearing more. If this is one of the reports Tobias mentions in the first episode of Fear The Walking Dead, this would likely be only a few weeks at most before the outbreak.

18) Lucille is, at least, the eighth (maybe ninth, counting Mays’s brother) named character to die this half-season…even if it did happen twelve years before the present.

19) Among other things, this episode explains Negan’s attraction to Alpha, her shaved head likely reminded him of Lucille (As we can see her bald head after she turns).

20) Since neither mentioned it earlier, I think it’s safe to assume the Vipers guard that Negan bludgeons is his first kill of another person, which Negan confirms while talking to Craven.
