The Walking Dead subway tunnel

12) Umm…how are the walkers surrounding the train? The tunnel wasn’t that roomy, to begin with, and became less so after the blockage, so…how did that many walkers manage to squeeze in there?

13) Gage is the first named character to die this season.

14) Gage is also the first named character to turn, though this isn’t much of a surprise, considering he killed himself with the clear purpose of becoming a walker.

15) It’s odd that Alden should call Father Gabriel’s rather harsh assessment of Gage a “hot take,” considering that the outbreak began in 2010, at least a couple of years before the term gained popularity.

16) When the group seems trapped between Gage and the walkers on one side and the barricaded door on the other, Negan tells Father Gabriel that the situation gave him “bad memories.” What kind of “bad memories”? Was he in the city or on a train when the outbreak first hit?

17) Daryl using a grenade to clear the rest of the train walkers is at least the third time a grenade has been used in The Walking Dead. The first is when Carol gives Rick to escape the CDC headquarters in the season one finale, “TS-19.” We also saw the Reaper use one to blow himself up in “Home Sweet Home.”  This is the second time Daryl has used an explosive to dispatch a herd, the other being the time he used a bazooka to get rid of the Wolves’ herd in the season six midseason premiere, “No Way Out”.
