Ryan Hurst voices Thor in God of War: Ragnarök video game

Walking Dead fans remember Ryan Hurst’s character Beta very well from the recent Whisperers war. He wore a skin mask from someone dear to him and then added some of Alpha’s (Samantha Morton) skin to it when she was killed by Negan (Jeffrey Dean Morgan).  He was a formidable character, and his death was outstanding. Now, Hurst will lend his voice talents to Playstations new game, God of War: Ragnarök as Thor.

The recent trailer for the game was released, and only Hurst’s voice was heard, but later the same day, Sony Santa Monica art director Raf Grassetti tweeted a photo of Thor for the game. He isn’t the hunky version we are used to seeing in the movies; the game version is a burly, red-headed man-child.

Hurst also shared the photo with the reminder that he looks much better in person.

Since leaving The Walking Dead, Hurst has been a busy guy.

He starred in the Amazon series Paradise City which is a spin-off based on the series American Satan. The series has been renewed for a second season, but there has been no word if Hurst will return.

Hurst also appeared in three episodes of the CBS TV series S.W.A.T.

Another role he recently played was that of Mulligan in the Disney+ series The Mysterious Benedict Society. This series is based on a series of books by Trenton Lee Stewart about four gifted children who are orphans or unwanted by their parents. Mr. Benedict (Tony Hale) enlists the children’s help and their gifts to stop his twin brother Ledroptha Curtain (also played by Hale) from taking over the world. Hurst’s character is a former agent of the government who serves as a protector of the children. There has been no announcement about a second season of this series.
