Norman Reedus gives shout out to stunt double Joshua Romeo
By Renee Hansen
The Walking Dead has many scenes that rely on stunt doubles for the safety of the actors. We have seen many photos online of side by sides of actors with their doubles. Sometimes they look very similar and others it makes you wonder how we didn’t notice it wasn’t the actor. Especially the time Chandler Riggs’ double was a woman. Norman Reedus, who plays Daryl Dixon, gave a shout-out to his current stunt man on social media today.
Daryl Dixon is often getting into situations that require the actor to let his stuntman take over the scene for the safety of Reedus. Fires, walkers, fights, and all the other situations Daryl gets himself into. I am sure Reedus is happy doing the motorcycle riding for Daryl himself as he is an avid rider, as his fans know.
His bike riding has led to his series Ride with Norman Reedus that airs on AMC. Hopefully, someday we will let some new episodes of this series.
Norman Reedus posted a shout-out to the talent of his stunt man Joshua Romeo. Reedus stated that Romeo is a better-looking Daryl who is always making him look tough. I think Reedus’ fangirls might have something to say about that.

If you head to Romeo’s IG page, you can see highlights of his skills. Color me impressed. Not only is he a stunt performer, acrobat, and circus performer, but this guy is a Guinness World Record Holder for? Most 1-up back somersaults in one minute (backflips while juggling). Click that link, and you can watch the video proof!
Do you remember that State of Survival commercial featuring all those Daryl Dixon’s? That’s Romeo, who takes the arrows and lands on the floor. (see clip below).
Romeo has over 30 credits as a stuntman on his IMDB page. Including Fear Street: Part One 1994, MacGyver, Cobra Kai, Fargo, Black Lightning and Jumanji: The Next Level.
Be sure to check out this awesome video titled Weeds on his YouTube page.
Thanks to Joshua Romeo and all the stunt people who use their talents to help keep our actors safe.
