Eleanor Matsuura welcomes Ian Anthony Dale to The Walking Dead family

The Walking Dead may be in its final season, but that doesn’t mean we won’t see many new faces in this season. We have already met quite a few new faces, and only four episodes have aired. Eleanor Matsuura, who plays Yumiko, will be in this week’s episode “Out of the Ashes,” as will a new cast member Ian Anthony Dale.
Yumiko joined the series in the episode “What Comes After” in season 9. She was with her group consisting of Luke, Kelly, Connie and Magna when Judith Grimes saved them. Since that time, Yumiko hasn’t had much screen time, but in season 11, we have already learned more about her.
She stood up to the Commonwealth interrogators demanding to be fast-tracked into citizenship on the grounds that she possibly had a relative living in the community. Her name was found on The Wall of the Lost by Princess. Yumiko’s brother Tomi had posted a note looking for her. It is hard to imagine the emotions you would feel in finding that someone you love is still alive after all these years.

It has been assumed that Ian Anthony Dale has been cast as Tomi, Yumiko’s brother, for some time now. Matsuura posted a photo on her IG page welcoming him to TWD Family, also letting us know we will meet him this Sunday.
We will meet him this Sunday. It is yet to be seen if we will see the Yumiko and Tomi reunion this week as well.
We will get to see a lot about the Commonwealth in this week’s episode. The official promo shows a bustling community with many amenities our group hasn’t seen since before the outbreak. Will the group be a help to Eugene, Princess, Ezekiel and Yumiko? Or are bad things ahead?
