The Walking Dead episode Rendition: Things To Note
By Liam O'Leary
The Walking Dead – Daryl meets Pope
11) Pope (Ritchie Coster) is the second person in The Walking Dead to recount surviving Operation: Cobalt, the other being Lieutenant Dawn Lerner of the Atlanta Police Department back in season five.
12) Bossie (Michael Shenefelt) is the eighth named character to die this season, and at least the third Reaper to die this season.
13) Also, between Pope shoving Bossie into the fire and the apparent fate of the “Judas” walker, it suggests that incineration is his preferred method of killing people. Additionally, being convinced that Bossie abandoned Turner shows that he does not take betrayal lightly.
14) With his devotion to God and his belief that he and his team are the “Chosen Ones,” the fact his name is Pope is extremely ironic.
15) According to the credits, the remaining Reapers we see in this episode are named Powell (Eric LeBlanc), Wells (Robert Hayes), Washington (Ethan McDowell), Ancheta (Dane Davenport), Boone (Zac Zedalis), and Austin (Lex Lauletta). Mancea (Dikran Tulaine), the one who was praying over Turner’s corpse, is named in the captions, but not in the credits, for some reason.
