The Walking Dead: Kelly’s state of mind regarding the loss of Connie
By Renee Hansen
The Walking Dead episode “On the Inside” will see a search party head out to look for Connie (Lauren Ridloff), who has been missing for quite some time. In last week’s episode, Keith (Brad Fleischer), the Whisperer found at Hilltop, told Aaron, Carol, Jerry, and Lydia information that viewers have known for a while. Connie did survive the cave-in.
Kelly (Angel Theory), Connie’s sister, suffered quite the loss when she didn’t return with Magna (Nadia Hilker), who was also trapped in the cave. At that time, it was assumed that Connie had perished. But, during this time, we haven’t seen a lot of Kelly and her grief. She has stood strong and has believed her sister is still alive.
When the explosion happened, Kelly did fall to the ground sobbing but immediately realized the noise would attack walkers, and they would all be no good to Connie and Magna if they were killed.
Kelly consoled Carol when Carol tried to apologize for her actions at the cave. Kelly understood why she did what she did and said she couldn’t change who she was because bad things had happened.
The Walking Dead, Kelly’s state of mind
In the episode “Home Sweet Home” she even comforted Elijah, whose sister was killed by the Reapers.
During this time, we have seen Kelly remain strong and believe that Connie is alive. Is this a front to keep her emotions in check? Or is she really just a very strong individual who can endure things and look at the positive in all situations?
In the upcoming episode, Kelly will be a part of the search party looking for Connie. The sneak peek also shows that Connie and Virgil come up against some evil in what appears to be a haunted house of sorts. Hopefully, there is a happy reunion between these two characters.
The Walking Dead “On the Inside” airs on AMC on September 26. This episode is available to stream now on AMC+.
